Meantime, I just wasted about an hour or more trying to restore a program after upgrading it. I use an invoice/time track program and they had a new version to try for 10 days. I've always been happy with it through multiple upgrades, so of course, I entered it knowing I had to have backups to restore the previous version if I didn't like it.
So..I didn't like it.
So...I tried to restore it. Nunh unh. It took me a whole lot of time to try going back through various versions of my backups until I found a combination that would work. Geeesh. I was panicked thinking I'd lost two years worth of billing records. I knew they were there, but couldn't figure out how to reload them just right. Thank God for Time Machine on the Mac--it lets you go back and search through a series of full backup sets and I had to go back to May 20! whew.
