These birds are wax-eyes and they're so cute! They're feeding on a mixture of fat and birdseed which we make ourselves and it's hanging on a cord
from a branch so cats can't get to it. Our cats sit on a fence or underneath and next-doors takes up a position on the roof, all lashing their tails in
frustration at not being able to get at the birds.
The birds usually feed on berries but food can be scarce in winter and lots die - hence feeding them and they're also very entertaining to watch. DS took the photo - he's just getting into photography and we thought this one was pretty good.
